From what I have been reading on other forums, it's still very beta. Overall the input has been positive. People seem to like the new look and features, but this is definitely a beta and not a release candidate. Keep that in mind.

Satellite maps are not working.

Address search is not working if you need an address with a number (you can find a street, but not an exact address).

And there are complaints about how much more memory it uses as well.

Also note that if you currently have Nokia Maps 2.0 installed (the default on 5800) then you will need to download and install new maps, which could take over an hour (depending on where you are and which maps you need).

If you have already done the map update for Maps 3.0 Beta, or Ovi Maps 3.0/3.01 then you are good to go (the new beta uses the same maps).

Yeah, I installed it and played with it for a while. No problems so far. It seems that it could be a very nice software if the navigation part wasn't paid. Otherwise, there doesn't seem to be anything that it has that we don't already have available for free. The navigation part has some trial license which is only 7 days and not available for US phones. I'm getting the impression that somebody up in Nokia management hates the USA a lot :-)

Just figured that out, eh? In spite of the fact that we buy a ton of their phones here in the good ol' US of A, Nokia really seems to not like us very much. We are always the very last to get firmware updates, not to mention the new model phones themselves. :(

In a sense that does suck. But if you look at it in a different perspective, we are lucky. Cause these phones come out overseas and if they end up sucking big time, we know not to get one. Now if they hit it big with one, then we wait and once we can get it here, we know to get it.

Yea, but when good things come out we still have to wait. Like the firmware updates. V21 was a huge improvement in performance, particularly for the Nokia browser, but we had to wait for months.

And now with v21 available for the US/NAM phones were are, yet again, TWO firmware revisions behind most of the rest of the world (who are on v31).

And it's pointless, because most of Nokia's firmware releases are unified (they are compatible with all regions). You can change your product code right now and flash the new firmware, but if we want it to be "official" we have to wait for Nokia to stop blocking the NAM product codes on their servers.

The whole "waiting" logic would be fine if we actually got a different firmware, but we don't. We get the same firmware everyone else got months ago. They are not fixing or changing anything. Nokia just makes the USA wait for no reason whatsoever.
