here's a link for the most up to date garmin maps. i got them from when i had my blackjack2. just tried it out and works great. some reason i can't just post the file i already downloaded. so here's the site. just follow the instructions there and then add the maps as they instruct.. Now by having the Garmin on your phone (the maps that is) will the program run faster than say Nokia Maps or Amaze? Or is Garmin just that much more superior than those two?

since the maps are downloaded to your card, no data is needed and all is free. it prompts me if i want to connect to garmin online, i just select no and all is good. i hope you enjoy. thanks for the vehicles link. the blue arrow was just not doing it for me. i do have unlimited data so going online is not an issue for me, but if you do not have unl data, this works fine w/o data..

Alright I finally got all the files downloaded and installed on my phone. The maps definitely look good. I will have to test out the GPS functionality tomorrow. Thanks for this thread.

It is weird cause you did post "vehicle" and yet I still made a folder called "vehicles".

Alright I have a question here. I was trying out the Garmin finally today. I had it in landscape mode and about two thirds of the screen was showing up correctly while the other third (right side) was showing something completely different. Is anyone else's doing that? Also is there a way to keep the zoom feature in? Everytime it updates the route or anything it zooms all the way out so you can see the entire city it seems. That is quite annoying. And another question, is there a way to get a cardinal direction to show up on the map while you are driving?

These are all features that I had with TomTom and I really enjoyed. So as you can see I am still getting use to this Garmin XT.

Oh and it is not the most precise GPS is it? I was driving on the highway and was exiting to get onto another highway. I knew my way to get home, just wanted to see how the Garmin would hold up. Well while I was on that ramp to the other highway, the Garmin lost me it had to recalculate my trip. Even though it originally told me to go that route. What is up with that?

Just little glitches that I found along the way.

That's a known bug in the latest version.
