Not that I want to get one. I am happy with my 5800. Just working out a few tweaks cause it keeps hanging up on people for absolutely no reason. I just did a soft reset so we will see if that did anything, if not, the hard reset will come.

Anyways, I know that having unlocked phones, your cell phone provider cannot see that you are using that certain phone. Therefore you can get away with the cheaper internet. So is there a way to unlock an Iphone and then AT&T cannot see that you are using an Iphone? Cause that would be a neat phone to fool around with when only paying $10 per month for internet. It is not worth it for $30 per month though. Just a thought.

Under agreement with Apple, there is no way to 'hide' the iPhone from AT&T.  All manufactured IMEI numbers are registered with them.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I thought of this too.

I figured as much. Just thought I would throw it out there and see what others had to say.

Yea, basically AT&T looks for the iPhone on their network and will automatically "upgrade" you to the iPhone rape... erm, "data" plan if they detect one.

There was a post on a forum (I think it was the Eternity forum) from someone who had popped their SIM into a friend's iPhone just to try it out, only to get a rude surprise on their next bill (lol!).

I have that very same plan.  I love it.  If you are being charged for a different data plan (or a PDA fee, you are getting jacked).

I am also paying $10 per month with the family data plan special. So are you saying that you went and talked to AT&T and showed them your phone and got put on this plan?
