I was reading a little about the Nokia N900 and was wondering what was your opinion on this device?

Nokia web page

Maemo OS web page

I'm thinking of maybe buying one.

All you have to do is read on other threads and you will have noticed that Jouten gave (yes I said GAVE) away his Nokia 5800 in order to purchase this N900 phone. So I think there are a few people liking this phone.

Not to be mean, even though this isnt really mean. But, a phone is a phone, right? A computer is a computer, right? I know I dont have the right to say this, but why use a phone to the capabilities of a computer? Just get a netbook if you want portability. But a huge phone like that? You can brag about it, but for how long, im sure nobody like a bragger, right? Sorry if this  is offensive, but its a phone, not a personal computer.

Phones to me are no longer phones.
And if you haven't notice what you are holding in you hand,
well let me tell you it's much more than a phone it's a piece of art.
If you are in this forum like me, than you too are looking to do more with our phone.

Not to be mean...

As you can see everything is changing.

at some point the screens on these phone will be to big to fit in your pocket....then what, back to fanny packs to carry them. not for me.

i am still very happy with this phone/multimedia/gps system i carry in my pocket.my next one will have a better camera and ill be good with my device.

shoot,if we could get photo acute program for our phones, this one would be damn near perfect
photo acute lets you take photos at 4 times the megapixels of your camera,i just havnt been able to find it 5800 compatible

I agree, Im not trying to say anything bad.
Just to me, it feels that a smartphone like the 5800 cant get any "smarter", but thats my opinion. But, IF I HAD THE MONEY, ill get the n900 in a second, haha. But I dont find it practical. And thats because I dont find the need to use features like that that much. I used to play resco bubbles, marble maze, micro pool, use the internet, garmin, and much more, but now it is just using up space and I barley find myself using it, maybe thats the reason I didnt get the iphone...To me, dont try to use something that it is not actually meant to do.
