I broke the screen on my phone with a door. Now it wont turn on. Im sure the warranty won't cover that. So I guess I better start looking for another phone. I'm unsure if I should get another Nokia 5800 xm or get the N97 mini. What do you guy think? I really liked this phone but is the N97 mini worth the 200 extra?

Ok, lol, you are kind of in the same situation I am in. Except my 5800 is not broken. Just acts up. I have been researching the N97 and N97 mini like crazy. I did find a coupon somewhere, you would have to do some looking, but made the N97 mini from Dell only $360 after the coupon code. Not too bad if you ask me. And if I decide to get one of those it will be the mini. Only cause it seems the build is much better to the N97. I think they fixed the camera cover scratching the lens on the N97, but you dont have to even worry about that on the mini. A lot of people complain about both of them being slow. It has the same processor and everything as the 5800. I dont think my 5800 is slow. Granted you are probably running more in the background on the N97's. Personally if you ask me after looking around, the mini is an upgraded 5800. It has a full qwerty keyboard and a 5 mp camera. And has a better home screen in which you can add widgets. If the 5800 let us add widgets like weather apps and what not, this phone would be fantastic. If you go to the N97 sister site at the bottom of this site, there is a link, you will see a bunch of people complaining. Now it is the same 6 or 7 people. Everyone else who probably likes their phones does not seem to complain much at all. The 6 or 7 seem like they are the hacker types, so they want and expect more out of it. Which is fine. Just do a little research on your own. The main diff between the mini and the N97 is the size and the N97 has 32 gb while the mini has 8 gb internal memory. Everything else is about the same. So IMO I would go with the mini. Like I said it looks like a nicely upgraded 5800. Now this is if you decide to go that route and not get another 5800. Try out Nokia first and see what they say, maybe they can hook you up with a deal of some sort.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not in that much of a hurry since I still have my samsung eternity as my back up phone, but I really miss using my 5800. I'm really interested in the mini but their is just no phone that can compare to the 5800 for that price and the only major differences I see is that the mini has a key board, better camera and the home screen. I guess I will just have to keep looking and hope I find a good deal for the mini.

Cool that you got it fixed. If you don't mind my asking, how much did itcost to get the screen replaced?
And have you updated to firmware 4.0 yet (it went live for the NAM XM 0577454 earlier this week)?

My N5800 dropped recently and developed some horizontal line on the screen. (the screen did not crack) I changed the screen and instead I got a bottom half-snowy display & the upper section on showed "Lock code" and a wavy-line. Any ideas? Thanks. Tony.
