WHAT, how in the world did you get a free PS3 out of the deal? Where did you order from?

Yep got a great deal I think and managed to get out an early contract early
All started when Orange sent me a text to say they were uping the cost of calls for going out of your alloted minutes from 5p per minute to 14.5p per minute. I complained and they cancelled my contract a year early. So I looked around and found this deal:
** Free: - Nokia 5800 Black and Silver Touchscreen XpressMusic
** Free:- FREE Sony PS3 80GB
** Free:- £15 cash, paid within 30 days via Bacs
Contract package: Orange Dolphin 40 inc. Internet
1200 cross-network mins + Unlimited Texts + 500MB of Mobile Internet Browsing • 24 months
• Magic Numbers • Orange Wednesdays • Orange Gigs and Tours • Optional FREE Home Broadband
All for £49.00 per month
Not sure if I can post a link to the site as I've just joined and don't want to break any forum rules

Wow! That's a pretty sweet deal (PS3)! I like my unlimited data/texts though. But that's a great deal if you don't have a PS3 and want a new phone on top of that.

I take it you dont get deals like we get here in the Uk.
The free gifts range fron I Pods to 50 inch Plasma tv's. Althought there not always "Free" as sometimes theres a charge for the hand set.
The company I use only operates in the UK

To start (and I am sure there are others in this forum that will be able to go over in more detail for you), the Omnia has TouchWiz (and Windows Mobile) and the 5800 has Symbian S60 5th. So a question would be, have you ever used a Windows Mobile or Symbian phone before? I do like the TouchWiz having it on the Eternity. But you cannot add widgets to it, so you are stuck with what Samsung gives you. And Samsung NEVER gives out updates. I have owned a Windows Mobile phone before (AT&T Tilt/HTC 8925). I really liked everything you could do with it (basically a small laptop). But it froze up very often and lagged all the time because programs needed to be shut down constantly to use other programs. So needless to say I got sick of the Windows Mobile very fast. After using Symbian for a little while, I have to say that I really like it. It has way less lagging or freezing issues than Windows Mobile. It gives you a lot of customization ability like Windows Mobile. And Nokia ALWAYS is fixing bugs/issues and sending out firmware updates. I mean there is a rumor that they will be changing quite a bit with the 5800 to make it a lot better. Search the forum here and you will find what I am talking about. So the other major difference that I see is the camera. I would probably say that the Omnia's is WAY better than the 5800's. I have not used the Omnia's, but it is a 5Mp compared to our 3Mp. Plus our camera is not really that good. There is also suppose to be updates for this too, so we will soon see hopefully. If I had to choose between those two phones even before buying and owning the 5800, I would probably go with the 5800. Two reasons: it is cheaper and can do just as much as the Omnia, and I wanted to stay away from Windows Mobile.
Hopefully my little talk here helped even a little bit. Let us know if you have any direct questions about anything with the 5800.

most of what jt said was true....exept that the omnia hd is in fact running the same op system symbian series 5.
but from what i have read online, nokia isnt giving it the same support as they would one of there own phones.
the real difference is the camera and processor speed.....and the PRICE
omnia hd 8mp camera $699+
5800 3mp $279
omnia hd has the fastest proccessor on the market right now and almost three times the cost
i seriosly thought about getting the omnia hd,but ill stick with my 5800 till it dies or what-not

t does. It's the Eternity with WinMo basically. Sammy adopted the 'iPod candy bar' touchscreen form factor so pretty much 90+% of their phones look alike. It just boils down to what OS and what size. Oh, and of course, which has the latest hardware tech. Sammy doesn't upgrade their phones with firmware, they upgrade their phones via the purchase of new hardware (that's when you get the latest software). And if you don't believe me about the lack of firmware updates, just go and check out the Eternity forum...
