Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean. Is the phone actually losing power (turning off), or just dropping calls (disconnecting while you are talking)?

When it turns off, does it turn back on (reboot), or do you have to turn it back on manually (with the power button)?

If it turns completely off, so that you have to turn it back on, then it's a power problem. A loose connection, or loose battery. The battery should fit very tight. If yours has a loose fit at all, try putting something thin (a few folds of paper) under or behind the battery so that it will press against the contacts better. If the problem persists, then exchange the phone or send it to Nokia for service.

If it is rebooting, then it is a software problem. You said you tried a hard reset, did it completely wipe the phone so that you had to enter your location, date, time, etc? If not, then it wasn't a hard reset.

Also, did you restore from a backup after you reset? If you did then you may have restored the problem.

You could try updating your firmware. Some earlier firmware revisions did have trouble. Open the dial pad and dial *#0000# to check your current firmware revision. It should be something like v31.x.101 or v40.x.005.

If it is lower than v31 (and especially if it's lower than v21) you should update. If you have a data plan or have set up a WiFi connection, then from that screen with the phone info you can go to Options, Check for updates. The phone will go online and check Nokia's servers for any updated firmware, and if found it will allow you to download and install the update over the air (called, FOTA for Flash Over The Air).

If you do not have a data plan or access to WiFi, then use Nokia PC Suite and the Nokia Software Updater (NSU) from a Windows PC to check for updates.

Good luck.
