Good Day friends. Ever encounter anything unpleasant regarding your 5800 nokia? I recently acquire this phone, almost 3 to 4 weeks ago. I experienced just a couple of day or weeks ago after buying this phone about hanging or missing playlist. Anybody experienced the same? Regarding the missing playlist, my phone just stop functioning while I was listening to it's built-in music player. After turning off the phone( as first thing we do after the phone suddenly stops functioning) when I try to look for my stored playlists in the music player, I was surprised to find out that all of my playlists were all gone. Any ideas or thoughts regarding this problem. I may post for another problem if I still have ample of time to add for another topic or place additional postings.

I have experienced this with the messaging application, but I have not had this trouble with the music player.

Had you run a backup or used USB mass storage mode around the time the trouble started? Pretty much every time I do either of these the messaging app loses track of the memory card (all my messages and emails disappear) and I have to manually tell it to use the card again.

What firmware is your phone using? If it is not the latest, then you should try upgrading the firmware. Lots of problems with the phone have been fixed in the newer firmware.

Use Nokia PC Suite and  the Nokia Software Updater (NSU) to check if there is an update.

Or, if you don't have PC Suite installed you can dial *#0000# to check your current firmware revision. And then Options, Check for updates, to see if you can do a Flash Over The Air (FOTA). Note that DATA charges will apply if you do this instead of using PC Suite.

You could also go to the support section of the Nokia site for your country and look for the "Can I update?" link, then enter your phone's product code to see if there is newer firmware available.
