I am giving my Brother-in-law my Nokia 5800.  I also am giving my Samsung Eternity to my OTHER Brother-in-law in the Philippines.  The dude has got to love me, I have given him a Palm Treo 650, Sony W580, LG Vu and now this Samsung Eternity!  LOL!  My Bro-in-law I'm giving my 5800 too is astonished and is wondering what I am up to!  LOL!

Anyway, I just wanted you to all know that I have greatly appreciated your shared knowledge and experiences with me.  Thank you so much, and I will periodically check in here and there to see how things are going. Until then, I will be using my Nokia E51 (my faithful backup) until my new phone gets here.

My new phone is going to be this:

Thanks, and peace!

I do not know what to do anymore. I moved here because of you and now you are ditching the forum once again, lol. That phone does look interesting. Way too expensive for me. It must be nice to be able to give away some nice phones and buy a very expensive one. Have a good one man.

To be honest, I have nothing to lose really.  If it works as a phone, I'm good.  Where I live, there is no 3G speeds available.  The only time I ever use 3G is when I am 'down south' or 'up in Anchorage'.  They have been talking about getting 3G where I live for the past couple of years now but to no avail.  These are 'tough' times right now, so I don't foresee anything ever developing here.  I usually just use WiFi in my home, the public library or other WiFi hotspots when I'm not using the regular GSM freqs.  I might use 3G like maybe 10 times or less an entire year since I started using cell phones.  So yeah, not having 3G is not an issue for me.  At least I will have 3G on T-Mobile if I ever should switch and the international flavors of 3/3.5G as well. Smiley

To me it's not just being an 'early adopter'.  To me, it's buying a piece of history.  Imagine owning the world's first Linux phone?  It's like owning the first iPhone or something.  Whether it turns out to be a smashing success or not, I have the first Linux phone ever. Smiley

Just in case you didn't see this... Wink

http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-N900-Computer-Unlocked-Phone-U-S/dp/B002OB49SW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1253248896&sr=8-2

I'm also considering this phone and the N97 Mini as well... hard to make a decision. I like the small form factor of the N97 Mini, but the N900 is just a damn mean powerhouse but it's big. Not to mention the cost between these two are negligible..
